You Are the Investigator

5

You're independent - and a logical analytical thinker.

You love learning and ideas... and know things no one else does.

Bored by small talk, you refuse to participate in boring conversations.

You are open minded. A visionary. You understand the world and may change it.

Interesting facts - McDonald's has had apple pies for years though, so I'm confused by the fact that says that two years ago they didn't buy any apples. And it's interesting that Kevin Spacey's brother is a Rod Stewart impersonator.
Today on the CMT Video Countdown, they showed Shooter Jennings' new video for his song "4th of July". Shooter Jennings is the son of Waylon Jennings. Anyway, as I listened to the song, I had a flashback of the Bryan Adams song "Summer of '69". I'm not sure if Shooter meant for me to be reminded of Bryan Adams, but I was. Kind of hard to apply that 'outlaw' label to Jennings right now though.
I just read a tip in a magazine that I'm going to try. If you set out a bowl of vinegar next to a bad smell, like the litter box, the smells are supposed to be neutralized as the vinegar evaporates. I hope it works!

I took this quiz once before and I ended up being Murdock. That result is posted over on the Maltese Cow blog. I thought I would post this result on this blog.

I am Hannibal

Cool and dangerous Hannibal is a soldier for life. He was a well respected colonel in Vietnam who was forced to hide in the underground after being charged for a crime he didn't commit. The leader of the A-Team, Hannibal is a crafty tactician and as he always said "I love it when a plan comes together."

Which A-Team member are you???

So much for the second career with the carnival/circus

I gave Fritz and Steffi worm medicine tonight. I guessed their weight at 20 pounds for Steffi and 30 pounds for Fritz. Unfortunately, after I had given them their medicine, I managed to get them on the scales and Steffi only weighed in at 14 pounds and Fritz was 24.5 pounds. So, the weight and age guesser at the carnival doesn't have to worry that I'll someday take his job. Hopefully, this time the medicine will do the trick.

Today I started out watching some Alien documentary show on the Sci Fi channel (or History channel, I can't remember which), but then switched over to $40 a Day on FoodTV. I miss good travel shows. Travel Channel used to have some good ones, but now all they show is the Poker games and Las Vegas casino stuff. I don't know what traveling is supposed to have in common with a royal flush, but then I've never been a card player. I also watched the show, Digging for the Truth on the History Channel. The host of the show is pretty interesting. I also went outside about three times today to walk and get some exercise. I must have gotten some exercise, I started falling asleep today around 3pm. Not good. Oh, and Avon Skin So Soft bath stuff does not smell all that great to me. I ran out of the other bath stuff I use and had to use the Avon stuff. At least the mosquitoes should keep their distance.
I finally updated the Manuscript Destiny Blog. Check out the latest excerpt of the Blog Novel!

Last night I watched the CMT Crossroads episode that paired Keith Urban up with John Fogerty. It was a pretty good show. I taped it and I've seen it a couple times since then. 120 channels from this Dish Network and still nothing to watch on tv. Anyway, I went to Keith Urban's official website to check out the comments because I had a question about the band members on the Crossroads show. I had heard that Urban had replaced the members of his band with new people, but I thought I saw some of the old members on the show and I wanted to see what the hard core Keith fans would say about it. Well, after reading through 4 pages of messages from Urban's fans, I can only say that it's scary how so many people call him Keith like he's their best friend or something. I have all of his cd's and I have a picture of him hanging in my cube at work (the picture is hanging next to my pigs calendar and my dart gun target), but I don't think I could post messages on his official website and have them come out sounding like I'm on a first name basis with him. And as for the messages on that board, one fan had an opinion of Urban's performance of a certain song that wasn't 300% total ga-ga loving support, and all the other people on the board totally took her to task for her opinion. I felt bad for the fan who mistakenly felt that she was among friends when she disclosed her apparently unacceptable opinion. That's why I don't join message boards and fan clubs and stuff. Once you're in, you're forced to follow the others around like lemmings jumping off cliffs. I prefer to have a mind of my own.

Today was a nice sunny warm-ish day so I went outside and walked for about 40 minutes after I got home from work today. I had planned to go to Walmart this morning to do a little shopping before work but half the town was experiencing a power outage. That sucked. The one good thing about working the 8:30 to 4:30 shift is that I can do my shopping in the mornings before work and don't have to wait in lines or fight a whole bunch of people to get to where I want to be in the store. Last night I watched the Westminster Dog show and saw my favorites - the long and short haired chihuahuas. I really, really want a long haired chihuahua. But I only have two hands to pet my puppies with and I currently have two dogs. I may get a third one from Tony even though Mom, being mean as usual, has threatened to take the puppy to the pound if I bring her home. I didn't hear her threatening to take my sister's cats to the pound, but then it is my sister.

Last night I stopped at Dollar General on my way home and bought my dogs a bath towel. Dad has given all their bath towels to the various cats we have around the house. And since Mom won't put the cats' towels in the washing machine because of all the cat hair, that means the dogs are out of luck. So, I bought a new towel and Dad had the nerve to say, "Don't give the new towel to the dogs, we'll give you one of our old ones." Maybe he should have given one of his old ones to the cats and left my dogs' towels alone.

The diet is going well. But tomorrow for some reason, we are getting free pizza at work. So, the diet is off tomorrow and hopefully will be back on Thursday.

Anonymous R Us

After reading this story about Bloggers who were fired after posting vague, non-identifying work stories on their blogs, I think I may have to create an anonymous blog somewhere else just to rant about work. You know, my job at the ACME Widget Corporation :) (Gotta love those old math books from high school. Acme Widget makes everything!)

Nashville Star

The new season of Nashville Star starts March 1st on the USA channel. Unfortunately, it airs at 10 pm and that's my bed time. I might have to stay up late to watch it. There are profiles of the 10 finalists up on the Nashville Star website for anyone who is curious. Other alumni of Nashville Star include Buddy Jewell, Miranda Lambert, George Canyon and Brad Cotter. And a few others who should have received record deals but haven't yet.

Progress Report #1

I have been dieting and exercising lately and today I tried on two pairs of jeans that I couldn't get into a few weeks ago and they FIT!! Yay!! I plan to lose more weight. The "looks are better than good works" governor is going to institute a more restrictive dress code consisting of 'business attire'. So, if it takes me 15 more minutes each time I go to the bathroom to get all the dress clothes back in order and without wrinkles and such, I guess it won't matter. As long as we look better than our customers. That's the important thing.

All Rise

Today there was a news article in which a department within our state government is now being required to stand up when anyone from the Governor's staff enters into the room. I guess the part about 'working' is just an afterthought. Our tax dollars are apparently being used to pay people to stop what they are doing and stand up. It's reassuring to know that my tax refund may be delayed because people are standing around. Our governor continues to call himself the CEO of our state. I'd like to know the last time employees stood up when Ken Lay entered the room. Or the guy from Tyco who's on trial. Or Martha Stewart. Or Donald Trump. Or Ted Turner. Or the Worldcom guy. None of them required their employees to stand up when they entered the room. It's frustrating on one hand, but downright hilarious on the other. If anything, this makes the Governor look really, really stupid. So far this year, I'd say deservingly so.

In Memoriam

I'm watching the Screen Actors Guild awards tonight and they just had the segment in which they honor all the actors who have died in the last year. Once again I was surprised at the ones who've died that I didn't hear about. James Garner got a life time achievement award and Morgan Freeman devoted part of his speech time to singing the theme song to Garner's show, Maverick.

Jennifer Garner has just won a SAG award for her work in Alias!! Yay!!!!!! Ooh, James Denton and Terri Hatcher are presenting. I loved Terri Hatcher in Lois and Clark and James Denton was downright hateful in The Pretender. I haven't seen Desperate Housewives, but I'm glad both of them are in a successful show again.

I got my Andromeda Season 3 Box Set today! Yay! Amazon said it might take until the 9th to get it, but they were really fast. Can't wait to start watching the dvds.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just read that Fubys are coming back this fall better than ever!!! I can't wait. I will have to get one of the new ones.

The adj. unit people didn't come to the office today. It turns out we are only getting one of them and she will be there tomorrow and Friday. It's one we don't like, but she should mind her own business and leave us alone. If not, Tony might have some explaining to do if anything happens.

It's been nearly three months since Topanga went on his blogrest. I miss him. I hope he's doing well.

Nightmare Come To Life

The adjustment unit office space got flooded and now some of them may have to come to MY OFFICE to work tomorrow!!!! It's bad enough we have to deal with them, but now we can't even talk about them. April and I will be typing the whole day sending emails back and forth to each other.

The new governor for our state has stated that there are redundant positions in our part of state government and he is going to look at eliminating some positions and merging some offices. Hopefully something will either be done with the adj. unit or we will be promoted to a higher pay grade and given different work to do.
