The dogs got a bath again today. Fritz took off outside and hid from me to avoid his bath. But I finally caught him. I made a cobbler for dad from blackberries he picked a year or two ago and froze. He will have to tell me how good it is because I don't eat cobblers. I still haven't watched any of the season 4 episodes of Andromeda, despite getting the dvds on Monday. Right now I'm watching golf and Vijay Singh is leading at 20 under, and currently Tiger is 11 under. Do you see my smile :)
Work is really starting to tick me off. The evil adjustment unit has decided that even if they are wrong, they won't fix what they are wrong about. Must be nice. Oh well, Charlotte knows so I'm sure that has spurred many a new email to the people down there. She loves her forward button on those emails.

Traffic and small towns
After work today I went to the bank, Rite-Aid, Walmart and Krogers. Traffic was backed up all through town, a combination of regular Friday traffic and County Fair traffic. I spent 20 minutes trying to get home after I was finished with my shopping. I finally went in the opposite direction, got on the interstate and went 10 miles out of my way just to get home. I can't stand sitting in traffic. If I'm in my car, I expect to be moving. My main question though is: How will my town survive Superwalmart traffic, if it can't handle this traffic? Tonight they had every police officer in the county directing traffic.
No treadmill tonight. I figured I walked enough in the stores today after work.

Horoscope
I can now see why my horoscope said I would get back to working out after July 28th. Last night it was too hot to work out. Tonight I had to stop at the store and pick up ant spray. I'm guessing there will be some reason why I don't work out tomorrow night (probably golf) and that may be the same reason for Friday night - that and going to the store.
Big news from the comic book industry: Well, it's probably not news for followers of the Captain America book, but I just read in the Wizard magazine that Bucky is back and is a major bad guy. Bucky was Cap's sidekick many, many years ago and was killed. But not really. He's apparently been controlled by some group somewhere and became an assassin who is put into stasis until they need him to kill someone. In the Wizard magazine some comic book guy said bringing back Bucky was a bad idea, but I'm actually thinking of picking up the comic book now because of the story.
Still haven't gotten any brownies. I read the nutritional information this morning on some low fat brownies at walmart, but one brownie had 200 calories in it and that's about a half an hour on the treadmill. So, I decided I was too lazy to eat the brownie and didn't buy any.

Hot, Hot, Hot
No treadmill tonight. It's just too hot. Mom said the weatherguy on the news was reporting 97 degrees. Ugh! We're supposed to have a cold front moving through tonight that will drop the temp some. I hope so. Now if I could only escape the brownie craving I've had for two days. Last night I ate everything but brownies because we don't have any. I think I may need to do some baking in a little bit.
This morning I woke up to tons of ants in the kitchen. I think the storms we had yesterday evening shook them up and brought them in. It looks like Mom's gotten rid of them though. Yay!
I may actually watch some of the season 4 dvds of Andromeda tonight. I got the dvds yesterday but golf was on last night so I watched that.

Commercial Observations
While watching golf today, I was inundated with a lot of repetitive commercials. Three that stood out are the ones for Just For Men hair color, Crestor, and Levitra. After seeing these commercials for about the 20th time, I started noting a few things: Why can't women's hair coloring products be done in 5 minutes? Mandy Patinkin, the spokesman for Crestor, is not a doctor, but he played one on tv. And, it's interesting to note that a side effect of Levitra, the erectile dysfunction drug, is a stuffy or runny nose. That's just odd.

Why don't they have puppy shows like they have dog shows? I would much rather see little puppies playing in the show ring. Animal Planet needs to invest in puppy shows. They had one puppy show (the football thing) but it was full of golden retriever puppies and you didn't get to see all the other different breeds.

Month 2 stats
I am now officially 2 dress sizes smaller. I went and bought new jeans today and a new pair of shorts and a skirt. For the second month (6/22 - 7/21) I walked a total of 67.81 miles and burned 8719 calories while doing it. Hopefully, I will continue and finish Month 3.

Well, Now I Can Move On
Ever since that new Harry Potter book was released, I have been dying to find out who dies. I'm not going to say who it is, but thanks to the internet, I now know. So, now I can move on to something else. Yay! I haven't read any of these books and really don't plan to but the mystery was very powerful.

You would think I wouldn't get tired from work if all I do is sit at a desk all day. But tired I am. And it's all because of email. I had to deal with horrible policy and in-fighting email today and it is exhausting. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I did have a thought to stop at McDonalds on the way home for a cheeseburger and fries, but I was a good girl and came home to my baked chicken.

Where Have I Been?
I haven't been skipping the blogs this weekend. I've been busy over at the Even Par Round blog blogging about the British Open. I got up a little before 6am this morning to watch the final round, which is true devotion to Nick Faldo since I usually get up about 10 after 5 am during the work week. I kinda like to sleep in on the weekends to about 6:30 or 7am.
Mom and Dad went to visit my grandmother in Ohio Thursday and Friday so I had some time alone at the house. Yay! I never get time to myself anymore. And Saturday they went to the store for a couple of hours.
We've finally been getting some rain around here. We needed some. Maybe it will drown some fleas out there and the dogs won't have too many. I've been drenching the dogs and the carpets with flea spray lately.

No treadmill tonight. I had a hotdog for lunch today - today was our big potluck lunch day. And I went to the store after work so I don't have the time that I usually do after work to do the treadmill.
Works sucks again. I hate the adjustment unit. I hope the governor trims the fat from the budget by starting with folks who work in the capitol city. But April is finally back to work - she broke her leg a few weeks ago and has been in a cast. But she's in a brace now. I'm glad she's back. She makes the office fun. It's good to have a partner at work.

Hogan Knows Best
I'm watching Hulk Hogan's reality show. It's really funny and it seems a bit scripted, but I do agree with Hogan on one thing - a 16 year old girl should not be dating a 22 year old guy. If she was 22 and he was 28, it would be different, she would have 6 more years life experience behind her and she would be a legal adult. I tell you what though, I wouldn't want to be the 22 year old guy having to talk to Hogan before going out with his daughter. LOLOL!!! Talk about a scary experience.

I'm So Excited...
Come on and sing it with me: And I just can't hide it............. Gee, you all sound
great. LOL! Seriously, I am excited because my golf blog, Even Par Round,
is doing very well. I hope I can keep it up better than my other three blogs.
There is so much to write about from the world of golf that I think I will be
able to contribute to it regularly. And no, I don't play golf. Heaven help
any spectators if I tried. Or car windshields, or passing birds, or squirrels
in trees. You get the picture.

My sister's cats are on their way to Florida with my sister and her family. It's
good that they are returning to their family after three years with us. But,
I hope they don't end up squashed on the road or in an animal shelter or
with some other family. Pets are members of the family and should be
taken care of just as much as human family members.

The London Attacks
I don't have all that much to say about them other than it's horrible that it
had to happen to London. Tony Blair looked really distraught and emotional
this morning when they aired his speech.

People who commit violent crimes get out of prison and the headlines are
filled every day with stories of repeat offenders, but Judith Miller goes to jail
and we tax payers are paying for it just because she DIDN'T write a word
about what the Feds want to know. Please, no one tell me any gossip. I
wonder which criminal had to vacate the cell to make room for Miller.
The streets are definitely safer with Miller locked away. NOT.

Lincoln Presidential Museum
I just watched about an hour of a tour of the official Lincoln Presidential Museum
that was on C-Span. This museum is spectacular with all its exhibits and technology
it employs. Everyone should go see this museum or at least watch this program on
C-Span if they show it again. Click on the link a few lines above to see more
about the museum.

Rick Springfield is on Larry King Live tonight. He has a new cd and apparently
he has battled depression after a serious accident of some kind. They haven't
gotten to that yet. Anyway, check out his website.

Well, it looks like I missed most of the Live 8 concert coverage. I did see
Pink Floyd. I didn't know it was them until much later. I wrote down a few
lyrics of a song they were singing and just looked it up on the internet to find
out who they were. Didn't see the Beatles thing. It's a shame people in
America can't band together to solve America's problems like they are banding
together to help solve Africa's problems. There is a definite lack of attention
paid to domestic issues by our government.

Blogger still has problems
They provided yet ANOTHER fix to this stupid posting problem and it still doesn't work.
They are really starting to get on my nerves. Now I have to go back to all my recent
posts and edit them to make the lines shorter so you can actually read what I've
written. This sucks!

I just signed up for this Technorati thing. Unfortunately, THEY don't recognize
my newest blog, Even Par Round. I know the blog exists because I post on it
and can view it very clearly. So, Technorati is not that great.

Soso Whaley ate nothing but McDonalds food for 30 days and lost weight
and reduced her cholesterol levels. Proving that it isn't what you eat, it's how
you eat it. Don't eat a ton of food like that Spurlock guy, eat sensible,
responsible portion sizes. I am very happy that Soso Whaley made this
documentary. It's time witch-hunters stopped blaming the food industry
for the bad choices individuals make. Good Grief - why don't they attack
alcohol makers and distributers? How many deadly vehicle accidents are
caused each year by drunk drivers?

I took today off so I could have yet another 4 day weekend. I love these
long weekends; I can really get on the treadmill and work out a lot. I went
to the store and such this morning. I had to get a money order for the
Season 4 Box Set of Andromeda that I pre-ordered on Amazon.com.
It's really great that they will take checks and money orders. I also did a
bit of shopping at Walmart. I bought a new book by Diana Palmer. It's a
hardcover and I usually don't buy those, but it's been so long since we've
seen a new release from Ms. Palmer that I decided to get it anyway. She's
a romance writer, in case you didn't know. At Krogers I spent as long in the
checkout line as I did shopping for my groceries. After this last contract dispute,
these workers at this store just don't seem motivated to do anything fast. And
this time, the customer in front of me didn't have his precious Plus Card that
allows him big savings so the cashier kept trying to get him to enter in his area
code and phone number and I think his date of birth into the card reading
machine. The customer kept screwing that up so after about the third time,
the cashier finally got the bright idea to swipe my Plus card just to get the
customer out of there. I thought the whole idea of the Plus card was that if
you didn't have one, you had to pay full price. Not that if you didn't have
one, they will give you the deal anyway. That's the problem with America.
Give me, give me, give me - everyone thinks their entitled to things. This
customer will never learn to accept the consequences of his actions if
people keep bailing him out. Did he learn to bring his Plus card with him the
next time he goes Krogering? No.
Mom and Dad went up to their new house today to see if they could get the
water turned on, but found out that many of the water lines will need replaced.
Dad said he might have to borrow money off of me to get it fixed. I don't know
if he was joking. But they came home with McDonalds and they had bought
me an order of fries. Great. With me doing the diet and exercise thing, I'll be
working those fries off for a week. But I had to eat them. Fries are no good
cold and both Mom and Dad had their own orders. What is wrong with them
giving me the cash equivalent of fast food if they want to get me something??
