He was on the Tennis Channel talking to a panel of experts and said to them that there just isn't any kind of media exposure for tennis. Unless it's one of the majors. And he's right. I did a google news search for Raphael Nadal just a second ago and the most recent news article google picked up was June 7th. Today's the 12th. That's not to say people haven't been writing about him - I did see some articles about his win yesterday when I surfed the web. But google news needs to improve.
